Victoria, B.C. resident Adam Bard creates hilarious driver’s license photo

It's rare that driver's license photos turn out halfway decent (particularly since the national smiling prohibition took effect), so Adam Bard decided to preempt the embarrassment factor.
Or maybe the 26-year-old software developer just thought it would be funny to shave half his hair and half his beard on opposite sides before posing for the shot.
Whatever the reason, the Victoria, B.C. resident has managed to produce one of the more interesting images to ever come out of the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia.
Bard decided to adopt the unorthodox look after stumbling upon a similarly asymmetrical photo. As he tells Yahoo! News, he saw someone spike half his hair and leave stubble on only one side of his face and decided to "one-up" the original.
He documented the process on his Reddit page, posting before and after shots and offering details on how he achieved the end result.
As the Daily Mail reports, his post entitled 'I decided to do a novelty driver's license. How did I do?' has gone viral, receiving over six million views.
In the post, he explains it took him some time to find the "right shaving technique" and admits the general reaction at the DMV went better than he'd anticipated.
"They deliberately said nothing, then broke down and asked me if I just did it for the photo. Some chuckles, no problems," he wrote.
The next day, Bard shaved the rest of his head and beard before heading back to the office. He says he's currently growing out his beard again — on both sides.
Commentary inspired by Bard's story has ranged from the amused to those who fear for his future employment prospects. He appears to be enjoying the reaction, telling Yahoo! News that feedback has been "generally positive, although some folks had strong feelings about [his] glasses."
