Kids films to look out for in 2014
|
2014 looks set to be a great year for family outings to the cinema.
Coming out in February ‘The Lego movie’ is the first-ever full-length Lego film.
It is the story of Emmet, an average Lego minifigure who becomes the improbable saviour of the Lego universe. Featuring plenty of gags for older Lego fans and an impressive cast including Morgan Freeman, Elizabeth Banks and Liam Neeson, the film has won critical praise for its humourous anti-corporate message.
In February, DreamWorks launches ‘Mr. Peabody and Sherman’, the story of a genius dog and his adopted boy who go back in time and meet historical characters.
The Muppets return in March with ‘Muppets Most Wanted’, featuring the usual suspects plus Tina Fey, Ty Burrell and Ricky Gervais. The movie follows the Muppets on a sold-out global tour as they get caught up in a plot by a criminal gang led by a Kermit lookalike.
In April, the loveable Rio birds are back. Blu and Jewel now have three kids and must use all their cunning to survive in the Amazon. The English language version of ‘Rio 2’ features the voices of Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg as the two heroes, as well as newcomers to the cast Andy Garcia and Bruno Mars.
‘Britain’s Got Talent’ star Pudsey triumphantly dances his way onto the big screen in ‘Pudsey: The Movie’. Set for release in early summer, it features the adventures of the happy-go-lucky stray dog from London.
And due out in June, ‘How to Train Your Dragon 2’ picks up five years after the first movie with Hiccup and Toothless embarking on more wild adventures.
