How much coffee do you need to get you going?
|
CBC News- Ordering a Monday morning double-double could get a little confusing for people in two Ontario cities, the test markets for Tim Hortons' new cup sizes.
As of Monday, you'll no longer be able to order a small cup of coffee at Timmie's in Kingston or Sudbury. Or rather you will, but what you'll get is a medium. Maybe this sign we found on Twitter can explain things better:
Tim Hortons is phasing out the eight-ounce (236 mL) cup size in the test markets. They'll be calling the 10-ounce (296 mL) cup "small" from now on, and all the size names are moving up a notch.
The coffee chain is also introducing a 24-ounce (710 mL) size, the new "extra large." That's four ounces more than a "venti" at Starbucks. Here's how the new extra large size compares:
The new cup size names are the same ones they use in American Tim Hortons locations. The eight-ounce "small" cup has never been available in the U.S.
Would you miss the small eight-ounce cup if it disappeared? Would you spring for that 24-ounce cup if it were available? How much coffee do you need to get you going? Let us know in the comments below.
