Housing Affordability
It became ever so slightly more affordable to own a home in Canada during the fourth quarter, new RBC Economics data shows. The cost of owning a family dwelling eased between 0.2% and 0.3% depending on the type of unit. The improvement came after small decreases in mortgage costs and house prices in a number of markets. The biggest drops were seen in Vancouver though housing affordability in British Columbia still has a long way to go before reaching less stressful levels, the bank said.
