Heat alert issued for Toronto as temperature continues to rise
A heat alert was issued for Toronto early Sunday morning.
The temperature is expected to rise to 31 C by the afternoon, but will feel closer to 37 C with the humidex. The UV index is sitting at 9, which is very high.
During a heat alert, people are reminded to check in with friends and family, especially isolated adults and seniors, to make sure they’re okay. Pet owners shouldn’t leave their animals in the car, either.
