“Leviathan” World’s 7th Tallest Roller Coaster Coming to Canada’s Wonderland!
|
Canada’s wonderland is about to get a whole lot more exciting. The tallest and fasters roller coaster in Canada will debut in the 2012 season. The ride will be called “Leviathan” and at 93.3 meters it will be the 7th tallest coaster in the world. It could accelerate up to 148 km/h, which would likely land it amongst the 10 fastest in the world. Leviathan will be 23.3 m taller than Behemoth, current record holder in Canada, and will travel 23.3 km/h faster. It will cost the park $28 million to build.
128 riders will be on Leviathan at any given time across three separate trains. The initial drop will be 360 feet high and a 80 degree drop. Yes, 80 degrees at 360 feet in the air. That is stunning and downright scary (or ‘thrilling’ depending on who you ask).
Canada’s Wonderland is quickly moving up in the world ranks and becoming the go to destination for roller coaster enthusiasts. The Park features 16 coasters third only to California’s Six flags and the famous Cedar Point in Ohio.
