EVENT DETAILS Hollywood takes over the streets of Toronto once again, as celebrities and stargazers roll into town for the Toronto International Film Festival. Famous familiar faces flood the streets for 11 days, along with thousands of fans hoping to catch a glimpse of their favourite stars. This year’s fest will feature movies from renowned filmmakers such as Park Chan-Wook, Jeff Nichols, Tom Ford, Mia Hansen-Løve, Jim Jarmusch, Xavier Dolan and more. Stars such as Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lupita Nyong’o, Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling, Ewan McGregor, Amy Adams, Chris Pratt and more all have films premiering at this year’s festival. FESTIVAL STREET Taking place along King Street West between Peter and University, the street is closed for traffic and transformed into a pedestrian promenade with a light tunnel, musical performances, outdoor screenings and more. The Festival Street will be open for the first weekend of the festival. TICKETS Individual advance tickets go on sale September 4th at the box office at the concourse level of Metro Centre, 225 King St. W., or by calling 416-599-TIFF, or online at tiff.net. Adult tickets start at $25 for regular screenings and $49 for premium (red carpet) screenings. Same-day tickets can be purchased at the box office of the individual venue. New blocks of seats may become available beginning at 7 a.m. the day of, even if the film is sold out. Rush seats may become available 15 minutes prior to a screening. Rush lines form outside each individual theatre. Rush tickets must be purchased with cash, and are $20 for regular screenings and $40 for premium.
