The Game of Love and Chance
a canadian stage/centaur theatre co-production
This girl-meets-boy tale is a hilarious romp about mistaken identity, true love and the business of marriage. Silvia and Dorante are engaged though they have never met. On paper they are a perfect match, but each wants to ensure the other is worthy of the marriage. Silvia decides to trade places with her servant so that she can observe Dorante’s true self and, unbeknownst to her, Dorante has the same idea! Our Artistic & General Director Matthew Jocelyn puts his signature contemporary twist on this 18th-century classic from French master dramatist Marivaux.
