1,500 MUSICIANS AT 40 LOCATIONS
Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2016, the TD Toronto Jazz Festival has become known as one of North America’s premier jazz festivals with more than 350 performances and 1,500 musicians performing at 40 locations around Toronto.
The heart of the festival is Nathan Phillips Square in downtown Toronto with an impressive 1,200-seat, fully-licensed mainstage marquee and outdoor stage, where many extraordinary events are offered free to the public.
A few of the highlights in 2016: Wynton Marsalis with the Lincoln Centre Jazz Orchestra and legendary keyboardist Chick Corea (with Christian McBride and Brian Blade) play Koerner Hall on June 28 and June 29 respectively. Over in Nathan Phillips Square, Gregory Porter and Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings bring their musical magic to the mainstage and Canadian legend, Oliver Jones, entertains at the Jane Mallett Theatre.
