THE WORLD’S LARGEST ANNUAL PHOTOGRAPHY EVENT
Scotiabank CONTACT is the month-long festival of photography that takes place in venues across the Toronto region from May 1 to 31. As the largest photography festival in the world, Scotiabank CONTACT is a premiere cultural event with a broad range of international programming. Whether acclaimed international artists or local emerging photographers, participants exhibit in a variety of venues, from major public museums to private galleries and many alternative spaces including billboards, Pearson International Airport and the facades of significant cultural buildings.
CELEBRATING CANADA’S 150TH
Through a series of exhibitions, public installations and events, the festival honours the 150th anniversary of this country’s confederation. From documentary explorations of the nation’s shifting landscape and inhabitants, to projects that challenge perceptions of history and definitions of photography, CONTACT 2017 presents outstanding projects by established and emerging Canadian artists and curators. 2017 exhibition details coming soon!
