Hangman Art Gallery is proud to announce City & Country, works by Rob Croxford exploring the relationship between city and country by juxtaposing retro-styled imagery with urban and rural landscapes.
Croxford's necessity of looking to the past to help shape the future is summed up in the vintage ’poster art’ look with the sense of nostalgia done by combining collage-like techniques used with mix media for an entertaining and challenging engagement.
“I employ humour and word play to address environmental and sociopolitical issues. By integrating comedic devises I am able to convey my ideas in a highly accessible way. I call this a ‘spoon-full of sugar’ approach to activism!”
