UK boyband One Direction perform two shows this summer at the Rogers Centre. They were put together by Simon Cowell on the British reality series The X Factor in 2010. They have been labeled as part of the new British Invasion and have sold more than 10 million albums worldwide. Their latest album, Midnight Memories, was released late last year and features the hit single “Story of the My Life.” Their other hits include “What Makes You Beautiful,” “One Thing,” and “Live While We’re Young.”
One Direction has won two Billboard Awards, two Brit Awards, and hold three Guinness World Records: for being the first UK band to have their debut album open on the Billboard 200 charts, for being the most followed band on Twitter, and for the highest debut by a UK group on the US singles chart.
