More Information:
One of the twentieth century’s most famous and studied works of short fiction, Franz Kafka’s The Metamorphosis, has been subjected to numerous stage adaptations. This acclaimed production of Kafka’s bizarre tale, Metamorphosis, by the U.K.’s Lyric Hammersmith company, continues touring the world with a run at Mirvish’s Royal Alexandra Theatre. Originally published in prose in 1915, Kafka’s story tells about a young travelling salesman, Gregor, who wakes up one morning to discover that he has turned into a giant insect. This unexplained transformation turns his family’s life upside-down, as they adapt Gregor’s environment and routine to suit his new form.
