More Information:
CIBC’s Lunar Fest rings in the Lunar New Year with a three-day festival showcasing Asian arts and culture. The event features dishes inspired by the Lunar New Year traditions, a lantern jungle, Lion Dancers of the World, skating under the moon light, a lunar kids game station, arts and crafts tying into the Lunar New Year, and more. One of the oldest celebrations has also been the inspiration to a variety of different works of art, particularly in Eastern Asia where the lunar calendar held a position of prominence for many years. The Lunar New Year was initially a celebration of both ancestors and deities, often accompanied by artwork to mark the occasion. This year is in honour of the year of the horse. This year’s fest will include a family of life-sized lantern horses traveling through historical Asian palaces, a dumpling fest, games and workshops for kids, and Lunar Skate as part of DJ Skate Nights.
