DANCE 7 Princesses (Haft Peykar)
This is a magical series of theatrical dances choreographed by Shahrokh Moshkin Ghalam, inspired by the 7-Princesses (Haft Peykar), the renowned romantic epic by Nizami Ganjavi written in Persian in 1197. The poem is not only a masterpiece of erotic literature, but a profound virtuous chef d'oeuvre.7-Princesses is by far one of the greatest romantic epic poems in Persian literature written by the 12th century poet Nezami Ganjavi. It Is a romanticized biography of king Bahram Gur, the Sassanian Emperor. The poem distinguished by a number of non-linear plots, and is full of symbolism and hidden meanings. The focus is on a series of seven stories narrated about King Bahram by Seven Beauties, his wives and princesses from different corners of the world from Byzantium to India. In the tale, color is used to represent the seven stages of love of the Sufi tradition, and the evolution from black (impurity) to white (purity).
