Anahita Loghmanifar is a visual artist and 2010 graduate of York University’s BFA program. Immigrating to Canada and searching for her identity in a new country has had a great influence on her artistic practice. Loghmanifar explores language’s abstract potential and how language, as a means of communication, loses its essence to become only organic forms in her abstract paintings. Emancipating the words from their bonds to literature allows for new forms to take place – the forms of shapes and lines – which could be open to interpretation. Anahita Loghmanifar has participated in several group and individual exhibitions in Toronto, Canada
