See the magic of ice come to life as artists put the finishing touches on this amazing winter scene, crafted from an astounding 35,000 lbs. of ice.
Come marvel at our very own “Heat Wave” ice display, bringing the tropics to Toronto, in the winter, alleviating the cabin fever. Ice sculptures will range from palm trees, and parrots, to a sail boat, a sea turtle, or maybe even a tiki bar!
The 14th Annual Sassafraz Ice Carving Competition starts Saturday at noon. Visitors are invited to watch talented ice carvers chisel out breathtaking pieces in the Village of Yorkville Park. They are also invited to cast their vote between 2 pm – 5 pm on Saturday for the People’s Choice Sculpture, to be announced at 5:15 pm that day.
