More Information:
The Tony-winning musical comedy Avenue Q returns to Toronto, following lengthy runs on Broadway and London’s West End, and a highly successful run at Lower Ossington Theatre earlier this year. An edgy, thinly disguised parody of Sesame Street for adults, the show uses songs by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, and a book by Jeff Whitty, to depict Generation Xers who grow up to find they’re not “special” after all. While puppet Princeton struggles to find a job and a life purpose after getting a B.A. in English, Republican puppet Rod tries to hide his closeted homosexuality from his roommate, Nicky. Songs include “The Internet Is for Porn,” “Everyone’s a Little Bit Racist” and “Mixtape.” Despite the puppets, this show is not intended for children. Recommended for ages 14 and up.
