More Information:
One of Toronto's enduring theatrical traditions of recent years, Shakespeare in High Park (formerly Dream in High Park) is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary this year by presenting the play that first kicked it off: A Midsummer Night's Dream. This new production of the Bard's classic comedy is directed by Richard Rose and stars numerous local performers.
Set in a forest near Athens, this beloved supernatural tale follows a group of fairies who use a magical potion to manipulate the romantic whims of four young lovers, as well as a bumbling theatre troupe. First performed in the 1590s, it has become one of Shakespeare's most popular works.
This event is pay-what-you-can with a suggested donation of $20. Kids 14 and under are free.
